Sure. W/in 2 years I guarantee that you will see a 500+ hp Mini. Its all a matter of money. Bore out a mini to 1.8, or throw in a stroker kit once someone makes it, throw on a huge turbo, Huge FMIC, build the crap out of the block and head, spend a ton on managment...and there you go. Its been done in the import world for a long time. I personally know of 3 400hp civics that are daily drivers who could push mid 500's if they wanted a track only car.

Cool vid though

That's sick!

You notice the turn in on this car? Looks like a sweet handling setup. I like when he steps on it coming out of the last turn before the finish line straight, wheel spin. Looks like Hockenheim to me.

I might have been impressed if they hadn't sped the video up. As is, it's a waste of time.

What lead you to think it was sped up? Listen to the engine noise, no distortion of the engine sound comes through. Kinda doubt it.

It still impressive that he looks to slap every other car on the track, no matter what the speed of the video.

I was up at MINI of Peabody last week and they said they're working on a twin-turbo 300HP MINI...that should be sweet!

I felt the same. This video was sped up a good amount for sure. Doesn't take away the fact that it's a very quick little car, but also, who knows who's driving the other ones.
I have a video of me blowing by a Viper at NHIS on a straight. It certainly doesn't mean that my S is faster. Also have one of me blowing by a Porsche

Just watched it again. The speeding up of this video is ridiculously stupid. I hope people here don't think that anything, but maybe an F1 car, handles as quick as this video is showing.

Ouch! Makes me want to have a little conversation with my insurance agent to learn more about replacement value.

Great Weezer Song and so fitting.

What other songs would be good?

Old school songs:

Burn rubber on me, Gap Band
Disco Inferno, Tramps
Fire, Ohio Players

Pretty annoying video. I would have preferred it normal without the knight rider music.

With that written..delete and empty the recycle bin.

The answer to that is; It is easy to beat someone if they are not racing. Who knows how good the other driver was. Could have been some rich old guy with more money than talent out to have some fun.
