I have the Helix short shifter and it works great, you just have to leave off the dust box, have not seen any problems and have put two thousand miles since installing it.

Not a shorter rod, but an extension that goes at the bottom of your shift shaft. Put one on my 04 and loved it ever since.

I have one too. Like they said, it's an extension piece. It's a very simple solution and works very well. Definitely tightens up and shortens the throws without changing the shifter height. I've had mine on for over 10,000 with no problems.

If you have any questions, call Eric at Helix he can answer them for you.

Ditto here...I've had mine for 6 months and no problems...I just worry about the connection to the shift rod coming loose...anybody seen anything like that...Also worry about no dust cover ...

Snick Snick. Mine's doing great. BTW, I was concerned about the lack of dust shield as well. When I took a peek at the plastic dust shield, I found some dust on top of it (looked like graphite lubricant) but none underneath it. Here's a blast from the past:

I loved my Helix too. Then I drove an MCS with the adjustable Alta set at mid-height. Wow, the difference was like going from stock to the Helix-- even more control and crisp-ness. I have the Alta now with a pistol grip, set almost to its full lower/max throw ratio, and it feels great, almost like the tranny knows what gear I want, and guides my shift for me.
