2005 MCS Tranny

Is the 2005 MCS 6 speed transmission, geared differently and optioned with LSD, that much better than pre-2005 transmissions, particularly in first and as an aid in 0-60 and quarter-mile times? Is the difference so dramatic that a transmission swap would be a modification worth doing? Lastly, is it now or will it ever be an economically feasible mod? I am specifically interested in the difference of the new gearing with LSD, not just adding a LSD to my 2003 tranny.

Yes it is drastically differnt. It is often less expensive to sell the car and buy a new one than buy a new transmission.

I agree... with the extremely high price of these transmission you're definitely better selling and re-buying unless you can get a good price for your current transmission.

The problem is, there's little to no demand for used trannies right now - and the people that do need one will be shopping for 05's.

Just get more power to grow into your current tranny.
