Drivetrain Boost pressure survey
Hi Ryan,
I do have the navigation system, and as I drove away from the Mini dealer for the first time, is when I noticed I had no temperature gauge at all. I couldn't believe it. I had to fix that!

Yep, that absence of the coolant gauge when you got the nav option is really odd. There's plenty of space for MINI to have put one in the tach or speedometer, they just didn't.
I'll post pics when I get these installed:

I just changed fro the 15psi to the 30psi Autometer electronc boost gauges. I was pegginhg the poor 15psi.
Today, I got a peak reading of 18.5psi. Highest yet recorded. (66 degrees ambient today, no idea of barometric pressure)

I wonder if the management system retards the ignition too much as a safety to correct what it see as an overboost condition. This happens on certain turbocharged cars, but it is more likely to happen accidentally on a turbo with stuck wastegate. It's probably not possible for the supercharger to overboost with the stock pulley, so this may not be an issue. I'll bet Andy can get ignition timing info uner full load. Maybe we could be treated to an ignition versus boost graph.
What do you say Andy? Are you up yet?
