Drivetrain how much for gauges?
prices will vary
I just recently shopped for a boost guage. Prices vary from 25.00 to 150.00 - all depends on quality and style you seek. I ended up spending around 50.00 bucks for a boost guage (major manufac.) and frankly am not impressed. It wasn't the quality but the instructions
- ended up damaging the guage, sent it back and got another. Made inquiries, followed instructions given and damaged that one. I can keep sending them back all day long
.
So my advise is quality counts (includes instructions) but at the end of the day you will be driven by style. Buy from a good vendor so you can return.
There is a pic in the gallery under bahamabart if you care to see what I did.
good luck

Don't have a preference if they're electrical or mechanical. I thought it'd be cool to at least get a boost guage, but I am on a tight budget (still saving my pennies to get the SPI Twin Charge unit), so price is the defining factor here. I've got just shy of 50k miles on my MCS without ever having any aftermarket guages, so I don't think I need the cream-of-the-crop variety. I wanted to know the ranges of prices for the various guages. $25-150 was mentioned by Bahamabart and andy@ross-tech.com mentioned 128.31, but I think andy was being a little facetious.
Andy? Facetious?? No!
BTW, was that with or without tax, and in what State? If they're all strung together, does that count as numbers or just number??
Dominic, if you want less expensive, you want mechanical. Electrical gauges have senders which translate pressure, temp or whatever to electrical current, which is then sent to and deciphered by the gauge ($$). Mechanical gauges just plug in somewhere.
You might want to define WHICH gauges you're looking for! If it's only boost, you should be able to get one for $50. Egauges has autometer for $50-$200, depending on style. You can always find used for less. Time is money - how much time do you have?
Note to self: Don't sell anything with a return policy to Bahamabart.

BTW, I was trying to be as no-specific in my original post as to the type of guage, becuase I was wanting tons of feedback as to the cost of various guages and who carries what for what price. Once I know the relative cost of each, then I can prioritize which to get based upon desire and need. Can anyone name specific part numbers and manufactures of the gauges they have?
Well, that's ONE way to go about it, but not the most effective, IMO. Why should I give you all the gory details on my AFM gauge if you're not even remotely interested in one? If you want TONS of feedback, do a search on "gauges" - there are hundreds of threads about all sorts of gauges.
Best of luck in deciding and purchasing!

Just went through all this

Parts: $70.76
Handling: $8.95
Ground Shipping charges: **FREE**
Current charges to your credit card are:
$79.71 Total
=====
PARTS,
1 - 2 5/8" boost/vacuum gauge to 30 PSI ATM 4403 $56.88
1 - 2 5/8" mounting cup, black ATM 3204 $13.88
My thinking is that getting a gauge that goes up to 30 PSI boostand reading mid scale or there about should be more accurate.
If I hit the lotto then I'm ready for a twincharger.
