Either I have been unobservant (likely), very lucky (not me), or just used to rough running cars (perhaps considering what I used to drive). I have not yet encountered any of the problems mentioned herein and am very sorry to learn that fellow owners have been suffering. Partial fixes are not good enough. Each and every MCSa must run properly. Most distressing to learn that BMW has again released a variant with teething problems.

Actually, a couple of weeks ago, my dealer service mech told me it's already available (in Canada).

I wouldn't trust the info until it was published on some official web sites (ie Mini or JCW). The dealers have been known to give the wrong info on this and have even installed the regular kit on autos without the official Mini okay on it (no idea what they did about the software with that)

Hmmm, I wonder if the problems with the MCSa's DME are causing BMW/MINI to hold off releasing the JCW kit for the MCSa????

Motoringfile just reported the kit will be available in 2006:

So are you interesting in getting it? If so with the mods you have you might have to buy bits and peices of it to fill it. Right?

The article you are citing is more in the context of optional equipment for the 2006 model year. The question for MCSa owners that have already bought their car is when will the JCW kit be available for retrofit to their cars.... Hopefully not too long.... Especially since the 2006 models are right around the corner so to speak.

Not really (if the car's specs are correct). The only item of equipment that is redundant is the air box. I would expect a new JCW air box to be for sale (from newyorkcitymini) once the JCW kit is truly available for the MCSa.

I AM ABSOLUTELY GOING TO DO IT. ; ) i've wanted a full works car for quite some while and i am so close there's no turning back now! i've worked it out with my dealer where they are going to cut me a deal (hopefully!) and just sell me the parts and labor i need - keeping my intake and exhaust as they are already installed on my car. so i'd just be getting the head, supercharger, spark plugs and software update.

Are you serious? The dealer is going to split up the JCW kit for you? I doubt that the dealer can order individual parts (and even if they could, the prices would likely be more than the price of the kit).

Two months later, and there is still a deafening silence regarding the JCW kit and the MCSa. I am not trying to rub salt into an open wound, but each time I get a response to my question (even from semi-official sources such as parts department staff), the time estimate comes and goes and still no JCW for the MCSa. I am starting to wonder if the kit will never be released for the current generation MCSa.
