Drivetrain Alta intake + Miltek exhaust + 15% pulley + IK22 plugs = how much horses?

As described in the title, how much real horses will that give on an 05 MCS? Learnt from Randy in the PP last time that you're not supposed to just add up the number of each gain, and assume you get that much. Too bad I am a beginner on mod and so I only understood part of it. :(

Don't worry, be happy

Just get the mods and forget about the horses, you'll know the difference as soon as you step on the gas. I had a 15% pulley/alta intake and milltek on my car, it was very good. The only other suggestion I would offer is to get giac software and you don't realy need the colder plugs. You'll like it.

I would say between 168whp and 175whp based on the large sampling of cars dyno'd

It's high enough that you'll feel it, but not so high that it's 'unsafe' engine-wise. Add the ECU mod of your choice, and you'll smooth it out and get a little more — and better mileage!

Only a dyno can answer that question. It's like a crystal ball...minus the cigarette smoking gypsy.

Where do you actually feel the "power" with an intake, pulley & exhaust?

Is there more low end power or is it all on top?

Alta intake + Miltek exhaust + 15% pulley + IK22 plugs = 200hp

You can say that, if they don't ask you to see a piece of paper with some graph on it.

The most important thing is with those mods alone you can smoke all that 200hp claimed factory cars like RSX, Civic SI, Celica, Scion TC, G5, GTI, A41.8T, TT1.8T, 3 series or PT Cruiser easily...that's real hp you get.

That's the best thing I've read on this forum in quite a while. Nice!

Is it really that much a stretch? I mean certainly you're not going to have 200bhp but 200hp in general if your is already putting out 167hp with those mods, maybe a new ECU swapped out for the plugs, should get your darn close to 200hp, I'd think.

But really, do numbers matter or is it joy of driving? I'd take the latter and I think with the mods you get all the power out of your car without putting in large sums of money.

Yeah..yeah...hp claims are jokes anyway. Put the car on the track and race that's where you see the real hp.

I think you have it mixed up... the dyno tells the hp story and the track shows the driver!

I thought dynos' lied...take it to the dragstrip and post some miles per hour in the trap. HP can be calculated from that.

Decent dyno numbers and a decent trap speed ... a winning combination!

all of the dyno's I have used gave the same hp figures within 1-2 hp.... is that not accurate enough? SAE of course

That's your car but what about others?

Timeslips and trap speeds mean the most to me.

I have seen over 40 cars dyno'd on the same dyno, and some of the same cars did the same hp on different occasions. I am sure that isn't good enough for you but it is what it is...

just to end this silly conversation.... where are your timeslips and trap speeds?

I think you missed the point...so I'll end it by saying take it to the dragstrip and produce some times. Then do some calculations..otherwise it's just a lot of graphs to me. 40 or 1000 dyno runs...I really don't care. Call me bullheaded.

I have not run the car at the strip..especially since they stop running the drags here since November and I have only had the car since late June and it does not have any mods..not even a pulley. That's not to say it won't have any but I can honestly say I won't put a lot of $$ in it. I'm looking at the EVO 8 with an aftermarket turbo setup to produce the hp I want. Think Vishnu or Buschor.

great choice for a car... just make sure you order a new clutch and tranny when you buy the car..... you are going to need it.
