'05 pulley size

Pulley check on aisle '05...

So, more than one person has mentioned that they haven't seen a big improvement with 15% pulley on an '05. And one other person mentioned that their installer thought the pulley taken off their '05 looked smaller. Additionally, people have mentioned that they think '05s seem a bit more powerful (I know there is different gearing).

Has anyone measured a pulley from an '05? Is it possible that they pulley is significantly smaller? Could that be how they really bumped up the hp?

I would like to know before I invest in a new pulley.

Thanks,
-Andy

I just compared the stock pulley they took off Friday with the 15% reduction. The stock pulley is definitely larger. The power comes on noticeably stronger above 4000 RPM. Me thinks I was too timid on my drive home from the dealer and just wasn't working the engine as I should.

The more I drive the car properly w/ the pulley the more I am loving it!

Well I haven't seen an 05 pulley. But there's no way it's smaller. Then the JCW kit wouldn't make the power boost that it does (or is supposed to do). The speed comes from 7 horses via exhaust/ECU and most importantly, the smaller gearing. I'd say 85% of it is the gearing.

I switched the pulley on my 05 and they 15% is definatly smaller, since I used a tool designed to fit around a stock pully I would say there is no change in pulley size between the earlier cars and the 05's.
