Transplanting LSD
In a post-facelift R53, has anyone transplanted a factory LSD to a non-LSD R53?
I have two trannies: A) Factory 6-speed manual with LSD, B) Factory 6-speed manual non-LSD
A has 125,000 miles; B has 75,000 miles.
What are the caveats, nuances and "Gotchas" in this transplant?
I'd appreciate any insight, advice, information.

My first question would be, why switching them over?
I once had a BMW Z3 where the diff started making a noise. They then swapped just the crown gear (is that the actual name?) for another used one which resulted in even more noise. This is because the gears have been "worn run in" into eachother. Never again for me.
Long story short: if it ain't broken I wouldn't swap them.
If you were to swap, it's actually very easy once you have both transmissions out of the cars. ModMini has a video about installing a Quaife lsd which is essentially the same as you're about to do.

LukasH,
Thank you for your input. Good question.
The case on my current LSD tranny is cracked at the point where the clutch slave cylinder attaches to it, and repairs are not feasible. Since I already have a good, low-miles non-LSD tranny, I just want to transfer the LSD to the good tranny and retain all its internal parts (except the LSD, of course.)
I have seen the ModMini YouTube post on this for a Quaife upgrade. My question is specific to a MINI OE LSD transplant to a non-LSD, rather than an aftermarket upgrade like Quaife or OSG,

I see. In that case I would swap the lsd too. There is no difference in swapping a Quaife or OE lsd.
It's like 20 e-torks bolts to get the housing off. Check the bearings on the diff and look for pitting while you are in there. I can't remember if you can access the magnet that holds the metal swarf when that part of the transmission is off. If so, check and clean it. It's a good indication if a bearing is failing somewhere in the transmission. (or someone drove the car without knowing how to drive a stick)
