Vote... For the best Mods!!!

I'm trying to gather a list of mods that I might do for my MINI, yet with school and everything I don't have the time to research every mod I could do for it. Most of you guys (and gals) research immensely before buying. So what mods do you think are the best????

Thanks and Have Fun!!

Mikey,

Performance = pulley (I have Alta from Randy Webb)

Driving = Rear sway bar (I have H-sport also from Randy Webb)

Well most of my mods are from Randy Webb what can I say

Are you going to Vegas? That will be a good place to check out mods by looking, listening, and even driving cars with about any options or combination of options you could want.

My opinions:

They vary for what you are using the car for, so feel free to contact me with any questions.

Hope that helps!

i'd put jcw quite low.. im kinda with el.. if i want to spend that much on the car i'd only go twincharge.... its too bad i cant afford it!

in the end... the best mod for me is still the sway bar.. follow closely by pulley.... 2 mods i'd carry onto a stock S anyday

no it's fine.... I have a wideband A/F gauge in the car for added insurance.
that pic was during break in on the dyno when we put new pistons in to get ready for the future HP we are going to make with the car.

No matter what you have under the hood:

Either a Valentine one or one of it competitors is probably the best mod. Or cost saving.

Yea I got one of these last weekend and have been "popped" twice this week, both times I didn't get pulled over because I wasn't going more than 5 over. I was one of only three cars in a 1/8 mile radius in my lane, and would venture to say that he only popped me because my car is "red", oh no, not back to that subject again.

Great Suggestion.

Anyone have anymore??

it's at 281 Wheel HP now
looking to eventually do 400 with turbo only. So far no overheating problems but it does get hot in their. even a stock one gets hot under the hood

I put the Schroth harness right at the top end of my favorites list. After all, what's the point in having a car handle well if you can't keep yourself in it!

I am finding myself getting uneasy at the thought of agreeing with PCnorton, a detector should be high on your mod list...

Randy does a great job listing his recommeds for basic mods all around the mini: engine, drivetrain, suspension, etc. check it out, it should give you the basics so you can go out and hunt down the details, which all the vendors on this site support. I used it.

The most important ingredient is "MONEY" With enough cash, you could literally make your Mini fly Wait till someone with the cash+knowhow to engineer a 500hp mid-engine Mini with SMG tranny and AWD Bring back the "Super Bs"

I'd spend my money on a great sport seat - I'd buy this is I didn't have a better deal lined up.

I really don't like the lumbar in the stock sport seats, and a good sport seat can really change your driving experience.

Two good brands are Sparco and Recaro - presonally my favorites are the Recaro Sports - they're used in the Mitsubishi EVOs and they hold you well and look great.

I'd look on Ebay. A couple days ago I saw black seats with red trim - that would look awesome on a Chili MCS.

Oh, and MSFITOY is a either a maniac or a genius. When you find that mid engine MINI you give me a call. I'll take about 300 hp, manual, and pure RWD though, thanks

Here's the basic idea for my own personal "Cooper RS"

The only bummer, and it's a big one, if you change out the seats, is you eliminate 2 airbags. I like the 6 airbags! So many people have walked away from nasty wrecks uninjured because of the safety features in the MINI!

You have the JCW option (very expensive, but warrantied), or you can go after-market with the Alta 15% reduction pulley, the UNIchip, and Cold Air Intake. You can add a different exhaust, as well, but with the afore-listed, you get similar gains to JCW for about $4,000+ less!
