Drivetrain PCV/CCV Induction side sensor delete - N14
PCV/CCV Induction side sensor delete - N14
I've seen some photos of engine bays and some videos on YouTube where folks have seemingly removed that sensor that is attached to the intake tube just before the turbo inlet. I've searched around (including this forum) and it sounds like this is actually a heater of sorts.
I am wanting to get rid of this altogether as it seems wildly unnecessary. I live in Arizona and it will never get cold enough here to justify this part and it is bulky BS that I want to remove so I can use a more efficient catch can and intake setup.
That said... I cannot seem to find a single writeup or video explaining how folks are removing this without it throwing codes (whether it be CEL or just codes on the Foxwell Scanner). What is everyone doing to get rid of this sensor/heater alltogether?

Pretty sure on the N14 you can keep that heater plugged in, and plumb your catch can into the OEM fitting at the turbo inlet.
If you are dead-set against keeping it, you can pick these up to bypass that heater:

@njaremka I've seen this when searching but it says it only works on the N18 motor. Does it also work on the N14?
Am I dead set on removing it? It isn't a deal-breaking, but it just makes no sense to have it and it created certain design limitations. Since I've seen folks running an N14 without it, it seems like something that could likely be done fairly easily.
