Would anyone happen to know or would like to venture a guess as to whether the JCW exhaust mufflers are turbo or chambered?
I was chatting with an owner of an '05 R53 and was admiring the sound of his JCW. Not too loud, crackles and no "burbles" (or whatever it's called).
Just thought I'd ask.

 

I'm curious too. My buddy's 2006 JCW is so much quieter, yet still sounds good. I personally visually dislike the OEM JCW "silencer" cans visibly hanging below the bumper cover valance but then, perhaps small price for quieter dBA objectives and world market compliance.

 

Hit ‘em with some rattle can high temp black to better “hide” them? I have considered doing it to Alex’s bc like you, I don’t like seeing the cans below the bodywork.

 

I tried my own suggestion. Had just a hint of black spray paint left so it was touchy about can angle between spraying just air and spraying paint and so didn’t flow out well…, but yeah, id say it made a big difference in visually hiding them.

this was just the back side of can about halfway up, sides and bottoms are still natural finish, though dearly in need of a polish after 17+ years.
