Quick PRW Dampener Question

I'm in the market for a PRW crank pulley....I have been reading and hearing of "defective" machining on the pulley where it mounts onto the crankshaft snout

My questions are....was there a time frame when all this happened? Was this mainly from one single vendor? Has the issue been corrected?

I don't want to be in the middle of this job and find out that I cannot get the PRW pulley back on the crankshaft

For what it may be worth, or...using the more accurate words -

Dampener - means that the part is doing something.
Damper - means the part itself.

Bryan, you are talking about a "damper".

Well, dampers damp, so then that means dampeners must… dampen? Make things moist?

 

FWIW, I've done two PRW installs and they both went on without incident.

 

And some people are thread dampers...
