Drivetrain Straight Through Exhaust Performance
Straight Through Exhaust Performance
Hi NAM,
I've been toying with the idea of deleting the battery box, get a pc680 and then have muffler shop weld a muffler for a straight through set-up. Does the straight exhaust add performance? Will it be too loud or will it be similar to most aftermarket exhausts? Car is not a daily, just a weekend and track car, but I don't want to ruin it by an exhaust that's too loud.
Thanks,

It will depend on the muffler choice. Personally, I've tried a Borla Turbo and I couldn't stand it. My Dynomax VT valve was rattling and I got tired of that annoying thing.
I'm currently running a Varex muffler, best of both worlds. If you close the valve, it's close to stock and when you open it, it's loud, but not Borla loud.

I wouldn't advise as it will be REALLY LOUD.
And many tracks now actually have noise restrictions and I even run a muffler on my track car, and still can't run at some local tracks.

Thanks Way. I guess I’ll just go with one ball for now.
