Exhaust expanded? or stretched?

Do you ever notice that exhaust shifted or moved just 1/4inch every time after driving?...and when everything is cool down it moved back in like 1/4 inch....is this just me?

That pesky metal, always expanding when hot. Ah, thermodynamics.

I have the Magnaflow and my tips expand 1/2 inch from cold to hot. Randy told me that before I bought the "Flow". I thought he was BS'ing me. He was right again What I don't know is if the whole system expands from the cat back or, is it just the portion behind the mufflers Actually, really doesn't matter... no banging or rubbing in either case.

First time I noticed it I thought because of a little race I did with the Viper at the traffic lights.....but then now I notice it evertime I came back from driving.

...I must call it's a MINI transformer!

Especially when you slide it back and forth while accelerating forward and stopping

this is why you should have flexible exhaust hangers! a supertrapp rep told me about his continued warnings to customers who want to manly solid mount their exhausts instead of using wussy flexible hangers......

My theory is not what is wrong with the hangers. The tips go in and out due to thermal cycling. When it expands while hot, it wants to straighten out and has no where to go except push the tips out...oops...ladies in the company
