Drivetrain What's your winter project?
Ok...the third thing is that I tapped new holes in the OCC so it could sit down lower. Before I go on, I need to clarify that M7's mounting design in the cowl area is very straight forward (much less work). There is no mounting or clearance issues if you follow the instructions that are included. I chose to put my self through this because I'm a glutten for punishment and wanted to see if it would fit in the area behind the hinges. Primarily, I wanted it to be more prominant because it IS so well crafted
The top image looked like a perfect solution until I tried to close the hood. The orientation of the sight tubes were interfering with the lamp assembly
But because there were two seperate tapped mounting points on the OCC's body and one for the sight tubes, I inverted the body in order to obtain the position for the tubes to clear, hence, the upside down M7 logo. I then lowered the mounting by taping new holes. I hope Peter's not too upset with me for going off on this tangent LOL. In the end, I feel it was worth the extra effort to put this work of art out front where it belongs.
And yes Tony...the first image didn't have the engine NUT on yet

Accordingy to Bentley, 218 ft-lbs.
No, I'm kidding. If you have the manual, check-out page 117-22:
Hydraulic engine mount to body = 100 Nm or 74 ft-lbs.
The hydraulic engine mount to engine mounting bracket is indeed 50 ft-lbs, but I think you want the first one...

Hey...where's the participation? The title of this thread is "What's YOUR winter project?"
Maybe I should change it to "My winter project"

I should have a clear feeling if this thing is worth it by weeks end, depending on weather.

.I will be adding a Miltek exhaust, and some lighter white wheels with better rubber, likely the Exel TZ-10's like Ryephile has. Maybe white bonnet stripes.
Ok.... Sid you requested my winter project.. As you know it's the TVR resurrection! Painted the body last fall...Built a spray booth in the garage!
But hey it had to be done BEFORE it got cold!!! The chassis is ready to be reunited as soon as I get a new wiring harness. So...basically not to write a book, I'm reassembling the car...finally!
Anyway, not sure how many know what a TVR 25000 M is but it's English, and pretty rare at 938 built. I've owned it since 1987 and decided to do a frame off when it was hit by a rat bastard drunk in 1997.
I was going to sell it for the Elise but it looks like the TR6 will have to go instead. Anyway, not too much on the MINI this winter and it looks like after finishing the bathroom and redoing the garage, little will be added this year... just an exhaust and carbon fiber nose piece for the intake. Maybe a rear sway bar. The big brake kit will have to wait but maybe I can get new pads etc before the Dragon. Tough call since the Elise may be in by the..... Means..NO CASH for a bit! That's ok since I did get my wheels and springs last year!

I'm glad you decided to keep the TVR
