Ceramic Coating - What to use and where?

As per title I started looking at Ceramic Coating when I saw milltek now offer black tips using Cerakote but not on the mini.

Finding people here in the UK who use it I found I can send my existing exhaust tips off and they will be good as new and blend in better with the black plastic around bumper.

they also seem to offer coating for pistons and combustion chamber and valves

https://www.cerakote.com/finishes/V-...oat-oven-cure/

was wondering if this would help reduce carbon build up and be a good idea?

also here in the uk zircotec seems to be the main product offered.

wondering what options there are for coating turbo, exhaust manifold and downpipe?

I wanna wait too for some answers..
On which part would be more beneficial for coating? If everything is with coating is it just overkill or might help as well?
Is there anyway that we might need(as a benefit) any "heat"on ANY part that would be better not to be covered with ceramic coating?
As mentioned : turbo/downpipe/exhaust and any other part not or should?
Cheers

Turbine housing and downpipe. Exhaust gas slows as it cools, so you want to prevent as much heat as possible from soaking into the turbine housing or downpipe, which will then radiate. Better spool, better flow and better cylinder scavenging. People seem to get hung up on exhaust system back pressure when the back pressure caused by the exhaust is pretty minimal compared to the potato in the exhaust that is the turbo itself.

Brought mine to a local company that specializes in powder and ceramic coatings. If near a major city there should be a few around.

But not all ceramic coatings are the same?

zircotec here in the UK, hear about something called swain in the US.

as to Cerakote found this

http://madcustomcoating.com/wp-conte...HeatShield.pdf

however drops are based on the difference from exhaust gas temp and coating to make it sound better when it should be based on difference between heat shield temp and coating temp.

And this report shows the various heat reductions in their coatings although does not include their newer Glacier range which is a shame

http://madcustomcoating.com/wp-conte...chReport-1.pdf

milltek use the velvet Black mentioned on their tailpipes.

there is also a Cerakote product for use on Intercooler called P202Q which sounds interesting. Not sure if this would be good on cold side of turbo as only hear of coating hot side to keep heat in.

Correct not all are the same. Some are good to 1650 degrees while others are good to 3000. The DP and turbine assembly should be coated on the inside as well as the outside. Be careful on the turbine housing as it needs to be carefully prepped and you do no want the coating near the radius or exducer of the turbine wheel. Tolerances there are tight and journal bearing wobble some so reducing that gap can cause a problem. If not building or rebuilding a turbo just do the DP.
