Drivetrain Aftermarket cam for daily driver? Worth it?
Would love to hear from someone with a Dominator cam and how daily driving has been affected! And if a tune is needed immediately after the cam has been installed ( ie if the idle is so bad that the car isn't driveable).

Please explain..!
One installs the adjustable cam drive gear, and........
Advance / retard ?
Degrees ?
I know the actual degrees may vary slightly, engine to engine, but it would be nice to have a starting point, since you are the one recommending this as a better way of gaining some power, please finish your comments.

Also, I find it odd that some (many) here scoff at 8 or 10 (max. rpm) horse power, vs. being able to gain XX power (torque) in the mid to upper mid range...for the street..!?
Where does a "driver" engine spend most of its time...between 3000 and about 4500 with shifts around 6000. Those instantaneous seconds at 6000 mean much less than gaining 10 / 12 / 15 hp (torque) around 4000 / 5000 rpm on the street. Even possibly Auto Cross.
For a street engine, give me mid/upper mid range torque every time..!

I don't know what the adjustment is, as mentioned Thmpr sets and locks them to his spec. (It's an "adjusted" Cam Gear, not an "adjustable" Cam Gear.
I e-mailed Thmpr to ask, but honestly, it doesn't matter to me what the actual change is, he's the expert and it did exactly what he said it would, a little more torque lower in the RPM, and pull to over 7000, without the typical drop above 6300. and that's all that mattered to me, so I didn't inquire further.
Personally I'm just happy with them, esp at ½ the price of a Cam, with a simple install and no tuning needed.
