Drivetrain Dual Mass Flywheel?
Dual Mass Flywheel?
Hey guys,
Wife's clutch is going out so I am going to have to do a clutch job..
I have done some researching and I feel as if I am getting some conflicting info on whether it is single mass or dual mass.
If it is dual mass where can I get a conversion kit for it?
If it is single mass how is the valeo clutch kit?

If you have a Cooper S it is a Dual mass flywheel. And if it's an R56 Valeo doesn't make a conversion kit for it. So going back with an original MINI clutch is the best option. This is what we do in our shop to keep it reliable and smooth for the customer to be happy.
We also make sure to do the fork and pivot pin that we include in the kit

If the clutch hasn't been abused or burnt up you can usually just reuse the stock flywheel. But if need we offer them affordably.

And lastly when you pull the subframe to do the clutch we always recommend replacing the front control arm bushings with the powerflex as they are really easy to do while the subframe is out. This way you also will never need to do them again.

This is also our number one R56 mod that will also help and is super cheap as it reduces engine rock making clutch engagement smoother and faster. Also it will feel like the power gets to the ground easy and less torque steer feel.
