Ben Fer Downpipe, up pipe did not fit!!!

having just recived my new cf downpipes and up pipe.. im impressed for about 20 minutes as i admired the cf.. but after i took out my alta... i spent 3 hrs wrestling the pipes into place! 2 things were apparent imediately

the ben fer downpipe into the tb did not fit.. it just shook, and no clamp of mine is able to cope with the utter loseness of the pipe's contact with the intake partition... i have the alta intake...

worse is the up pipe... the bends just didn't make fit humanly possible.. i swore for a good 20 minutes trying to push the dam thing down into place, but everytime i get the piece that connects ram air into the cf pipe it is off at an angle... and the other side into the base of the intake, the cf pipe will not fit properly either!

im mad! no instruction.. ben fer performance may give great looking items.. but they need some more r&d

just manage to catch up with dan and after some quick explanation, he is sending me some silicone boot for them.. i'll see how well the install goes with that

Kyriian,

We don't provide instructions on using our Carbon Fiber tubes with an Alta Intake because they weren't designed for that (The tubes fit perfectly with our intake system, however - which has had over 400 hours of R&D in design, development, and testing over the last 18 months). We will have a silicone boot out to you immediately, and I will e-mail you a link to the instructions for our intake (which should provide some guidance on these pipes). I was under the impression you only needed the pipes, not the silicone boot as well, as I thought the Alta kit had one already.

Regards,

Dan Bennion

i posted this a tad too early... should've called you first huh?

well... worse case scenario... maybe i can get a piece of silicone to fit between the hole of the alta intake to the cf tubes...
