EBay available MODS

This is my first post on NAM so be kind. I'm on a waiting list to order a 05 MCS next month at Mini of Murray in Utah . I have been reading for months now and have not heard of anybody saying anything good or bad about the MOD equipment that is available on EBay. They have several different CAI systems, a coulpe of exhaust systems (Megan,BlueFlame{UK}) and springs from TEIN. Does anybody have this items on thier cars ?

Not Motoring at the present

first off, Welcome to NAM! I hope your wait period goes quick, I know mine did

Regarding ebay stuff: you can find the odd score, but in general, talk to a knowlegable tuner like Webb Motorsports or Helix13 - guys that really know what they're doing, how to get power out of the car, and don't just promise big numbers.

If you're a bit tighter on the budget, there are a few items that are a knockout for your performance per dollar:

*supercharger pulley: Just about all of NAM's vendors carry high-quality pulleys. If you have good under-bonnet capability, you can install this yourself, borrowing a few special tools from fellow Motorers.

*Cold-air intake: Pilo makes an excellent CAI that makes power, sounds great, and is very reasonably priced.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

You have to be careful on E-bay. Read the desciptions carefully. Ask questions of the seller. Usually if it sounds to good to be true it is. Alot of those cheap CAI are just that. the piping has no real way to secure it and just hangs over your air box. You would be better off going with Pilo, madness,Alta ect. Designed for your car.

CheckRed,

WELCOME TO NAM

I agree with Ryephile... buy from MINI people that know MINIs.. might cost a buck or two more but the end result is good. Who, but Randy Webb of Webb Motorsports would come fix you pulley if it broke in half?

I have
ALTA PULLEY, ALTA INTAKE, THROTTLE BODY, PLUGS, WIRES, COIL PACK,
SSR COMP WHEELS, MILLTECK SPORT CATBACK , H-SPORT LOWERING SPRINGS, P/S FAN COVER, H-SPORT REAR SWAY BAR, H-SPORT CONTROL ARMS, UNICHIP ECU, WHALEN SHIFT ****, WEBB’s STAGE ONE BRAKES,
AUTO UP WINDOWS, VOICE OPERATED GPS SYSTEM, M7 OIL CATCH CAN, UPPER AND MID GRILLS installed so far with ALTA SHORT SHIFTER and
INTERCOOLER DIVERTER in the boot to be installed next.

Most of my stuff I got from Randy Webb and I am happy with what I got

Earl
