sc maintenance

I've decided to go ahead and order the maintenance kit for the supercharger since its never been done and I'm in service mode now. should I go ahead and replace the water pump while I'm at it as a preventive or leave it alone if it hasn't failed?

I would. You have to take out the water pump when you remove the supercharger anyway. Cheap insurance.

Since you have to pull it off anyway it's what we do when we do a service.
Here is our kit

and the water pump to add on

it's in my cart. I've ordered so much from you, I think I've given you more money than I gave the previous owner for the MINI, lol. one of my favorite ordering sources.

What would happen if you overfilled the supercharger?

Of course you can physically put more in than is recommended but you shouldn't. There are very specific recommendations for the quantity of s/c oil to put in, and it is different for each end.

I know there was recommended about and the kit I received from WMW had two bottles so when I did it I stood each side upright and filled, then leveled SC without plug if nothing drained I repeated process until fluid trickled out, then capped.

Should be 25ccs in the smaller chamber and 100ccs in the larger, but your method is what Wheeler Dealer used when they refurbed an MC40.
