2013 MCS tune

I recently purchased a 2013 MCS with 33k on it and love the car. I've installed a aftermarket intercooler, Akrapovic DP and exhaust. It already had a K & N panel filter. Those are the only mods thus far.

With the install of the DP, I have a CEL. It's been suggested to do a tune on the car. I've spoken with both WMW and Mario about the tune (both stage 2), but concerned about long term reliability with the increased power. I don't want to be replacing the clutch or other internal engine parts.

Anyone here have a N18 engine with 10's of thousands of miles after one of these tunes without any issues?

Just and FYI, I'm pretty happy with the current power but if no long term reliability by doing this, then all the better.

I can give you a list of hundreds of customers that have 20K plus. The N18 is a really durable motor with many enhancements over the N14. Your 2013 is even better than the early N18’s. I’m over 300whp on a stock N18 motor.
Change your oil often and everything will be great.

The clutch won't last very long with a manic stage 2,
mine has expired over this summer, on the plus side I now have a good reason to upgrade to a quaife diff

(Ps, over 100k with 259whp with my r53 on the oem clutch, it's the torque that kills )

I have a 2011 N18 and have been running a Manic Stage 2 tune for about 50k miles/3 years now. I did blow up an engine, however that was due to a lot of other compounded issues on top of the tune. Been running like a top for the 2 1/2 years since. Like Mario said, changing the oil frequently (I do 5k mile intervals) is key, as well as keeping enough oil in the engine. I also installed an Aquamist kit and run 100% methanol with it to give myself an octane kick on boost so I don't risk detonation, however this isn't entirely necessary.

I only recently replaced the clutch with a JMTC unit because I want to do Stage 3 and I was having issues with it slipping, but it was due to a failing master cylinder. Once I replaced the master cylinder, the stock clutch never slipped in the 3 more months it was in the car after. It just slipped enough that I wanted to change it anyway.
