Drivetrain Biggest Bang for your $$
I agree, Clover. Marty R's comment was very, very funny! My first performance mod was 'the stumble'.....then a CAI and an upgraded ignition system to try to deal with it because Mini certainly wasn't. After that, chronologically.....short shifter.....15% pulley.....non run-flats.....Greenstuff pads.....rear sway bar.....Whalen shift ****.....GIAC re-map. Total cost........$2,559 over a period of two years and every dollar spent was well worth it!
Some inexpensive mods not the best, but the cheapest.
Hi all,
Here are some inexpensive mods. And nitrous is good, but not that good for road racing and track days.
Guess what's next for me?
I really like the cartune, as you get more than HP (like better DSC programming), and you get as many tunes as you need as you keep changing the car.
I'd been looking at some of the equivalent mods from manufacturers, but after spending some time on the track, I'd rather spend on handling than speed. I'm going cheap there too: a used bbk, and RDR camber on a group buy. I've got to find a set of used wheels that clear the Stoptechs though.....
I also agree about getting rid of the run-flats. And it's almost free, because the run-flats are shot in less than 15k of spirited driving, and you have to buy SOMETHING, and those Pirellis euriforias or whatever are expensive so why not get those F1s.......

- By-pass valve, either wire-tie or stiffer spring.
- One-ball exhaust. <$100
- Hot Air Intake < $50
- MTH-Cartune ~$150
- SC Pully & Plugs Don't know cost yet!
