I just bought a 2005 S convertible. On the tailgate it says Dinan S instead of cooper. Doing a little research I've found that Dinan had a number of upgrades for this car. My question for you guys is, how do I identify what Dinan parts are on my car? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Customer support recently with Dinan is lacking. A few years ago I had a similar question about a BMW with a Dinan sticker inside the engine bay. They were able to look it up and tell me that I had a tune if it had not been overwritten at some point by the dealer.

 

The throttle body has "Dinan" engraved on the blade inside

The Airbox has "Dinan" Cast in to the lid

The exhaust will have a metal tag with "Dinan" Welded to the muffler

I believe the supercharger pulley has "Dinan" engraved in the front of it

There is supposed to be a label on the DME (the computer next to the air box) that says if the software was updated to Dinan software just like the JCW have the same label stating that the JCW software was installed.

The strut bar has "Dinan" engraved in it.

Thats all I can remember at the moment. Hope that helps.

In some instances a modification can actually decrease the value of a car and MINIs are not exempt from that. The key is finding somebody that is interested in the mods you may have as the used car pricing places do not even consider the costs.
