R56 temp sensor

Coolant is leaking around temp sensor on my car. My question is can I just replace the O-ring (I don't see why not) or is is best to replace the whole thing? Everything is working as it should so I don't see why I couldn't just replace the O-ring. Would there be a universal number for the O-ring so I could find it locally?

i think you would be fine to replace the o-ring !! you will lose coolant so yo will have to re-bleed the system !! RE BLEED IS A MUST

well I got the part number for the sensor, long story short it's on Amazon for 8 bucks. In the reviews there are other mini owners who bought it along with other bmw owners and it's worked great for them so I figured I'd try it out. After getting it, it is identical to the oem one, same markings and numbers on it. So I'm giving it a shot
