NM Air Filter

Hey All,

I've had my NM engineering air filter for quite some time now and am wondering: How can this be more efficient than the stock filter? The stock filter hooks right up to the intake to ensure that all air goes into the engine where as the NM filter is all open and after ~5k miles, i get a black spot from where the focused air is hitting it. This smaller surface area and open module cannot be more efficient..... If anything it should actually be more restrictive than the stock filter?

The stock system is very efficient. If anything aftermarket filters provide more sound if anything.

With that being said, I have a K&N filter just because it is reusable

After all the CAI systems, oiled filters, stock housings with every type of filter made, this time I went aFe dry filters and my stock housings.

https://afepower.com/afe-power-31-10...ilter#overview

I have one in my truck that I use for cross country trips, and have been in extremely dirt areas where it was plugging the filter. With this dry filter, I pull when I get to the hotel room, wash in the shower, let dry over night and install in the morning. A clean and effecient filter from then on. And if it needs to be cleaned again, no big deal, do it again. As long as you don't abuse it, i will last for years. My trucks filter is over 5 years old and the filter looks new, plus I gave up carring a spare or cleaning kits for the oiled filters.

Also, if you take the time to look, they have the coned ones that can replace the CAI oiled filters.

Something to consider. Last a very long time, cost less in the long term and less headaches.
