Did they pay you to say that LOL.

Mine appears to be working properly. The car was slow off the bat, sport display was peaking at like 120hp. I think it was because the battery cable was pulled though. Over the 25 or so odd miles I went, it normalized and is definitely far faster.

I feel it most down low so far. That boost around 2500rpm is impossible to miss, even just in town.

I cant seem to register the warranty because the mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:00, which seems to be incorrect.

I've since had an opportunity to drive in dry conditions without my family in the car, and the improvement is definitely very noticeable. It feels like exactly what I'm assuming it is, more boost with everything else held constant. I'm satisfied with that.

Matt,

The replacement unit that I had also was all 0s for the MAC. And showed up as a Sport. The next one I get is supposed to be a full new kit so it should have a different MAC.

Yeah, I talked to dinan on the phone about it. They apparently had a batch that came with incorrect mac address markings. Doesn't seem to be related to the lack of software, I gather, and they offered alternate steps for registering the warranty.

I will say that I didn't experience an immediate perf boost from the moment I started the car. I was a little nervous, at first, that I had a dud too but everything feels great after 45-50 miles.

Dinan Elite warranty

Hey folks, just bought a 2017 JCW...I’m considering the Dinan Elite upgrade but my closest Dinan Mini dealer is 1000 miles away...I may order from them and have my local Mini dealer do the install...Would need to figure out logistics for Dinan warranty as my local Mini dealer is not a Dinan reseller...

Here’s my real concern...I have the 7/100 warranty on my JCW...Dinan is good for the first 4 years...if in year 5, I have some sort of power train issue, could the local Mini dealer say the Dinan mod caused the power train issue and not honour the 7/100 Mini warranty? What do u feel the chances of that happening are?

also any suggestions as to how I could use the Dinan warranty if need be, with the Dinan Mini dealer being a 1000 miles away...hate to flatbed for a CEL for 1000 miles! perhaps I could pay the local Mini dealer and have Dinan reimburse me out of pocket?
