The AP is a useful tool, but their maps are no longer supported, and their results have not been consistent --- just as much praise as complaints. I highly recommend getting a Manic tune. If the nearest installer is too far away, call one and set up a time to mail him your ECU. Expect at least 10 - 15% HP gain with Manic. I can't comment on the "JCW remap".

Access ports are about $500 on the used market (sometimes $400). That is the same money as a Manic tune, as suggested above. The only downside is that your ECU needs to be reprogrammed. If there is a tuner nearby, that isn't a big deal. If there isn't, you need to remove the computer and overnight it to someone for the tune. Your car will be down while the computer is out of it.

I liked my AP when I had my 08, but its old technology and its a crapshoot if you will get a tune that you are happy with.

Have fun,
Mike

Browse their site for the closest dealer --- http://www.manicmotorsport.com saves the trouble of pulling your ECU.

The JCW Tuning kit is pushing 192hp with the sport button on. You're prolly not going to get any more out of it with another tune.

I Have the Cobb Access port and have four + Maps loaded
Several came with hand held and one map given to me by another Miniac
are vehicles match engine etc,.
I like the Access port is because I can scan the codes and delete the maps at anytime
Convenience is my number one priority. Just every time a get a code I can read diagnose and replace the part in a day or less. Without going to stealership or someone that is not local and not charge me for a code to be read...few auto parts stores do read the codes for free but PITA to ask and do at their store when I can do all in my garage. I do not race my mini the power I have is plenty with the access port
Just my opinion...Manic I hear is the best but I have 148,000 miles on my mini so how much longer will it last to justify $600 tune...which I cant take off when traded in or when its sold or go Boom...Just my opinion
