JohnMonk has the S1 kit on his car. One thing I noticed about the Dinan exhaust is that it discolors on one side. You could fix that with a torch, though. I didn't care for the sound at idle, but it sounded pretty mean at 100 or so on Nashville Speedway @ the Phil Wicks driving school! Sound is very subjective, though. You ought to hear one for yourself before you decide.

MINIguru,

WIll you take a picture of the throttle body once you install it? I have the software, intake, strut brace, and exhaust, and curious how you like it.

Thanks.

Ask for one of the throttle bodies with the metal clip holding the cover back on not electrical tape like the one we saw at our last install party. We were nice guys tho and helped him re attach it after it had fallen off in 24hrs after the Dinan dealer installed it.Things that make you go Hmmmmm

picked mine up on Sat.

I had the Dinan S1 kit installed on my 02 MCS last week, the first one done at Knauz MINI, and picked it up Saturday morning. Now that I've had a few days driving I must say I am impressed. With the intake and exhaust you really hear the power when hard on the throttle, but at idle and at normal cruising throttle application it's just a touch louder than stock. The car definitely feels quicker and the pulls better, particularly at about 4000 rpm and up.
With the included items the kit is right there price wise with other aftermarket suppliers. But this is a matched set of products that work in conjuction to improve the performance. Plus. since my dealer is a long time BMW Dinan dealer the warranty is not an issue.
Looking forward to a future pulley from Dinan.

Happy Motoring!

Before, asking these questions, do a search on the site. Not to be mean or anything, but you will find much more information on a search, than the response you will receive on this one thread. There is a lot on this site about the Kit, as well as on Dinan's website.

...... that complicated huh? I thought that maybe just a list of what's included would help. Don't need a lot more then that to understand what it is ...
Anyone else have the simple answer?

Onasled,

The Dinan S1 kit includes their cold air intake, exhaust, software, and a strut tower brace. You can check the Dinan website for much more detail.

Regards,

Jim
