Let me just get to the point. I'm looking at a Quaife, Wavetrac and MFactory.

Which one should I get? Let me make this clear. I do NOT have the funds or necessity for a clutch type diff. So that is out of the question.

I know Quaife is proven, Wavetrac has that nifty feature where if the wheel is in the air it WON'T spin that wheel. Similar to a clutch type.

Mfactory is considerably cheaper and proven in the Honda world, but the warranty bugs me.

Quaife: $995.12
Wavetrac: $975.50
MFactory: $699.99

Sooo. Which one?

I just got my Quaife for less than $700 but its shipping from the UK

Already decided on the Wavetrac since no one really seems to use one in the R53 world. Id thought Id give it a shot.

My suggestion would be the quaife. I've been installing them for over 10yrs now and even raced on one for that time and NEVER had a failure. This is one of those parts that is so much labor that spending even an extra $500 to get a known quality and reliable part over having to do it again is well worth it.

The Wavetrac is on it's way. I know that Quaife is proven and I initially ordered one, but I switched it to wavetrac because it IS a proven brand in other cars, not many people have it in the R53, I have enough confidence in it to be a Guinea pig of sorts. (Unlike OBX)

Plus it's made in the U.S and has ARP hardware in it.

Not to mention the mini clutch in it to try and ALIVIATE not stop but Aliviate the issue of no load on one wheel.

Is it gimmicky? Only one way to find out. Although I probably won't be using this feature too often.

Obviously I'll let everyone know. But I haven't found any detailed pics on this diff for the R53.

What type of pictures are you looking for? Something like an exploded view of the internals or how it fits into the tranny? The differential will be the same (should be) for the R56 as it is for the R53. So, maybe if you find something for an R56 it will be what you are looking for.

Maybe you have already seen this, Wavetrac has a YouTube video showing how their differential works, but it is a "cartoon". Their design seems to be a Torison based design with a clutch that engages when there is a large difference in rotation between the two wheels.

I meant the Wavetrac in general. I thought people would want to see pics of it.

What's the word? Have you had it installed as of yet?
