I've heard the clutch in the 3rd gens is weaker than in previous models, when I had mine done my tuner warned me of this as well and pointed out that he was getting clutch slip in 2nd. Knowing all this I've been very careful since I've gotten my tune not to full on floor it.
After reading this post I figured I'd give 60 in second a shot. I hit 60 right at redline, but before the rev limiter. This is with the JCW Tuning Kit and NM Module. Manual transmission also.
Neat. Does it not run out of steam hardcore at those RPMs like the stock tune?

I definitely wouldn't make a habit of it. It starts to run out of breath about the last 1K RPM. I normally shift way before that to stay on the power curve, but remembered this post and had to give it a shot.
These cars make a ton of torque, but the clutch is definitely an issue for B46. Do you not smash your car? Mine is tuned and pulls freakin hard. But now I find myself not wanting to drive hard because the clutch is so weak. And unfortunately, there’s not really clutches on the market.
I do find that I don’t drive has hard post tune as I did before. At 38k miles I’m not wanting to burn my clutch up just yet. When I do decide to get on it a bit I’m real careful with my gear changes and make sure the clutch is all the way out be for I put the hammer down.
A stronger clutch and LSD and I feel like this car could punch above its weight, but right now I’m so worried about wheel spin or clutch spin that I really don’t push the limits or launch hard.
