Throttle body mod?

It has been suggested that I get a larger throttle body from stock. What do you notice when you do this. How is throttle modulation and idle etc affected? Any help is appreciated.

02 S, Unichip, 15% pulley, Borla exhaust, Dinan intake.

Thanks

should only affect things after the throttle has opened. it allows a larger volume of air to pass. WOT you will certainly notice how much more power can be developed.
I'm sure I didn't cover everything, just a couple of basics; my knowledge is limited, so I try to only make comments I am pretty certain of.

SpiderX,

I would check out the Dinan, it is a pretty good price at $399. It should provide better throttle response and you should see a good 2-3hp in the higher rev range (I think +5,000 rpm). Helix noted this much hp when testing the throttle bodies.

I would be interested how this works in conjunction with someone who has larger injectors on.

I had heard from another MCS owner that the Dinan throttlebody is sold with the Dinan ECU software upgrade and not alone.

It's really unclear which size throttlebody will work best. There are now many sizes to choose from. Don't expect much HP gain although it is possible that throttle reponse might be a bit better than stock. There are no independent dyno comparisons yet.
