tune gains on pulley/intake/catback

will a tune provide much of any gain on a car with 17% pulley/intake/catback, no other mods

While a canned tune "may" help, a custom tune will normally help with even no mods, but with mods, it definitely should.
Remember, tuning is about optimizing settings for "your" parts and how they are working with each other, and all parts work different with each other, even the exact same parts will work different on different vehicles. Factory and canned tunes are best guess, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not, but a custom will be designed from reading the way your car specifically is working with your specific parts. This is also why it's suggested that if you can, wait until you're finished doing your mods, simply as a cost savings.

I was at 180 ish, untuned, with jcw380's, stock exhaust (not even one-ball) with 17%...was my "baseline", was told that with the 17% the fuel mixture was actually pretty good...
It then went to 200 hp with a tune...was fuel limited according to Jan/RMW...
Said if he had a bit more injectors to scale, he preferred the 500-550's at the time, thought he could get about another 10-15...and I was asking for a very "safe" tune, not an aggressive tune to brag about.
I will say, some people at the tune event were getting more....some were getting almost ZERO....all came down to the shape of the motor....

If I get a tune I'll get some injectors too, it's a track car so I don't wanna be pushing too lean
