I hope i get more than a few HPDE's out of these at 400 $ for the set! are there any comparable options that are cheaper out there ?

I personally use EBC Yellowstuff on my track car. I have been using them since i started doing HPDE days. They are affordable and work great. The one thing i would recommend you get a TI Shims. I have never experience Brake fade with them yet, but then again this also matters how hard you brake and the tires you have ect. Also consider doing brake cooling. Something i will be working on next.

Don't have any experience with Carbotech, but many people seem to like them. I'm a budget racer, so if it cost 30% more for just 5% better this is not a good ratio for me, unless you are trying to beat some record, But for price i would go for the yellowstuff.

In my R53 i use the R56 front and rear JCW calipers the actual Brembo Brakes.

Yellowstuff
Front EBC DP41789R $106 on Amazon
Rear EBC DP41931R $86 on Amazon

Check this guy out he will make TI shims if he doesn't already carry them for the R53 JCW caliper. Just ask him.

P.S. I would consider tire as well it make such a difference.

I thought the r53 jcw rears were the same? The yellows cost half what the xp10/xp08 cost, but they only handle half the heat too

I'm a heavy brake till almost lockup driver, I'm going to be using RE71R until I can get some track tires might just stick with the re71's though

which rear are you using, regular r56S or the r56 JCW rears?

I'm using regular R56S fronts, and stock R53 rears I have a factory 06 JCW and the rears look the same as my regular 05 S so I did not plan on upgrading them.

basically making my 05 brake like my 06 jcw
