Downpipe and Intercooler

Finally instaled the downpipe without cat on my countryman, sound and turbo sound changed completely and it's so much funnier now!
And I also noticed some increase in power which wasn't minimal.
Taking in consideration I still have my car with the stock ECU, Will the upgrade of a Bigger intercooler make gains in power? like the Downpipe did?
because I saw at Alta mini that the alta intercooler guarantees 8 to 12 hp gains in a Stock Ecu.
And which is the best Intercooler and cheap?
Thank you,

I think that might be asking which is better , Nike or convers. Lol
I drank the koolaid and bought a Wagner based on everyone's reviews but mostly on the weight factor. I don't think any side by sides have been done.
I live in the desert and during the summer (115 deg ) it takes awhile to cool my AIT ( air inlet temp) down. It is impressive in hard top end runs , 90-110 pulls for miles and it will keep the AIT around 3 deg warmer than ambient.
If I didn't live in the desert I would try the tyrolsport , they have the best write up IMO but it can block some cooling and AC issues if you live in a hot climate...
Just my two cents

"Best and Cheapest" are two words that don't compliment each other. The new Helix intercooler is a great unit, and has proven to drop charge temps as well as be a direct bolt on.

Intercoolers do work as they lower intake air temp which will increase power. I don't buy into intercooler dyno sheets as it's not possible to dyno an intercooler unless the dyno is in a wind tunnel and it has to have real world airflow to work.
I use both the Forge and the Helix and both work and fit correct. Don't go cheap as we always end up having to force them to fit or the weight is just to heavy to justify the savings.

Thank you,
I just ordered the WMW catless downpipe for my 2013 cms. Did you install it yourself? how did it go?

I have two years before I have to deal with a smog check. I am thinking I will need to get a akrapovic delete R to pass. I know I can get rid of the CEL with a tune or coding, but will that allow me to pass emissions? I figured worse case I will swap back to stock for the smog check. What do you plan to do for passing emissions?

Wagner Competition is much better! Lower temps and great fitting.

Like I said , Nike or convers, Chevy or dodge. Until there are side by sides testing its all just verbal opinions. I got the Wagner and think it does well with beating on it but didn't have the wow factor while cruising. Have I tried another one - NO. I did contact tylosport and asked about the higher heat here in the desert and they actually where honest and didn't suggest it. ( that speaks volume in my book )
It's just like exhaust or intake systems. Most say the stuff the are running is good but have not tried or tested others, so take the top 3 your hear about and make a pick. Lololol
Just pull the trigger on what YOU feel is best and roll with it ....
