Don't know if they sent me the wrong parts, or it just doesn't fit... I just don't think that the hangers from an 03 and 05-06 are that drastically different besides the direction they point.
Anywho, picture below show the problem. On the mid pipe, the hangers are supposed to be long enough to bolt into the holes on each side... Not even close
Secondly, not major, but... Hangers on mine are like so (Pic shows hangers that came on exhaust, with factory ones wrapped around muffler to show difference)
One point toward the front of the car, while the other points to the side... On this exhaust, both hangers pointed towards the front of the car. Not even worth modifying the muffler shop said since thats what ultimately holds the exhaust up onto the rubber hangers.
Pics:
I contacted the seller via phone, and they want proof of fitment problems since Im "the only one who has found issues" with fitting the exhaust on.
Hopefully its just a wrong part but I doubt it. Will update about refund... going to bill them for the hour of labor muffler shop charged me since Ill have to pay this again when I get a correct fitting exhaust.
FYI. On the midpipe all they had to do is cut the hangers like I did. The hangers don't "bolt" into anything. The hangars go inside rubber boots and the boots screw into a plate and the plate bolts unto the chassis.
And the muffler hangers could've been modified. Take the hangars from the stock exhaust and weld them onto the new exhaust.
Seems to me the shop you took it to didn't want to do the job so they overcharged you.

Ya I'm starting to slowly think that...although the mid pipe the hangers weren't long enough - too short, which in your case was the opposite. But the ones for the muffler makes sense, could just use the stock ones. I think he just didn't wanna do it also because my hangers that bolt up to the bottom of the car had broken. I'll try another shop and cut my losses but idk what I'm gonna do about the mid pipe

Look at your stock midpipe and tell me if you have a plate in the middle of it like this:

ill have to get up under it tomorrow and see... took a quick look tonight just for reference and I did see that plate there.
I also noticed that you have those hangers... I think mine were missing cus the exhaust shop were saying the ones on the ebay exhaust weren't long enough, thinking the red hangers bolted up to the outside where the plate actually goes.
I might just order some hangers from ECS and bolt it up myself. I have a friend who's a welder, might be able to just reweld the hangers for the muffler portion of the car. Ill update later this week.
SO quick update... I think the guy at the shop might have been retarded
I ordered all new hangers for the mid and rear part of the exhaust from ECS... hopefully be here by this weekend.
Im just going to bolt it up myself. Will probably need to shorten the hangers on the mid pipe and then re-weld the hangers on the muffler which is not much work at all. Showed them to my friend who's a welder and hell do it in exchange for a case of beers to help install
good to hear mine will be here tomorrow, I'll buy a welder and reweld it myself not too hard, I used to weld for a living 20 years ago, but I've not had a good enough reason to get another welder, finally an excuse I've got a few broken wagons that need repair too

if you want to save money, rent the welder from Home Depot

mine came a day early, on my birthday no less, and I just finished installing it. Went on real quick a little rubbing against the rear most bends after the mufflers and before the tips, I left the clamp off so I can maybe get it pushed forward a little bit more once it heats up and cools off a couple times.
sounds great, on the inside mounts I flipped them sideways and installed one nut on each, should work fine
you can barely see how I fipped the inside rubber mounts here

When you say bend the rubber, does that mean your flanges/hangers were not facing the right way either on the inner part of the muffler? Would like to see some more pics of that if possible that way if no welding needed, ill just do what you did.
so when i got my exhaust I opened it up and laid it out on the floor and at first glance it looked to me like it would need some tweaking. I was under the impression that the mufflers would be perfectly level. I have no mufflers on my car right now so I had nothing to actually go off of. But after seeing these pic its obvious now that they actually turn in toward the center of the car. ( Mufflers lower toward the middle of the car) Knowing this, I think it'll fit just fine. Although I do thing that two of the slip fit joints need to be opened up slightly as I couldnt get the pipe in all the way. I'll know for sure on Monday when its installed.
I'll take a picture of my current exhaust to give you guys something to laugh at...
Previous owner cut off the flange from the cat to the resonator, welded a resonator straight on, added a section of pipe to another resonator, then to two pieces of pipe that bend around the battery box and then out the car. No mufflers on the car, just two resonators. You have no idea how awful it sounds on the highway.
I'm GREATLY looking forward to mufflers. Not only for my sanity on highway drives, but for some much needed low end torque.
Also, I think my GF will appreciate it. She says that the exhaust sound at 3K makes her nauseous....which saves me a lot of gas as she drives all the time now.
How loud would you guys say it is compared to stock? Im not too worried about drone, I had the TopSpeed Exhaust on my m3 and that was pretty loud lol although idk if i wanna go back to that for my DD
it is quite a bit louder, I could just barely hear the burble/pops now it's very evident when they happen
I mean I could hear mine on the stock and know when it pops and burbles, but nothing drastic. Well, I guess Ill have to get a resonator fitted to quiet it down a bit.
I had to make an adjustment I had some rub between the top of the mufflers and the car's heat shield
swapped out the center rubber insulators to generic ones that are thicker, the outside hangers hold everything up, the inside hangers gap the exhaust away from the car & heat shield so there is no rub
had to trim a bit out of the rear pipe where it slips into the front so I could gap the rear from the heat shield a bit more, and to fit the battery skid plate
this is how much I had to remove from the center mount
battery skid plate leading coners bent to clear the Y, not sure what good this thing is as it's aluminum and I can bend it with 2 fingers
2 post lift, worth every penny this kinda work would not be very fun on the ground with jackstands
