Today, I finally got car to go into "roller test", I had the sequence correct, but not the timing. I was hitting the Tach button to quick, before it had a chance to cycle through its normal start up. For a stock B48 it did really well with only a BugerTunning stage 1 JB. I will be back to the same dyno at the same 7pm in the evening, but with my 3" downpipe. This is one of two, but the first to have before and after numbers on the same car, same dyno same temps. The car dies off around 5400rpm, but with production of my Ceramic DP, larger IC and companies like Burger and NM, getting more out of that little turbo is right around the corner!!! dde01

when the Cel light is on, there is no difference in how the car drives, you just have a tiny light on, similar to when you take the traction control button clicked off.

The F56 JCW is not out yet, so doubt anyone will have the Burger tune

I know that but they can be used on R56 JCWs. To be honest my car is fast enough, I'd be afraid to use it myself unless it was on a track (and I guess you can't use it in Autocross).

Very nice Mario! Glad you are beta testing stuff for the rest of us. I grew tired beta testing back in 2007...

So those numbers are from adding only this? -> http://burgertuning.com/mini_cooper_...nce_tuner.html

how do you figure that? His numbers are very nice but the F56 JCW is rated 228hp and 230+ tq. (TBH I was disappointed with the new JCW torque numbers - I was hoping for 260+lbs tq)

Same engine in the BMW 2 Active Tourer has 258 ft-lb of torque, so it's de-tuned for the JCW.

You're comparing wheel HP to crank HP, so there is a chance that these are JCW beating numbers

Exactly. It's ridiculously under-tuned.

Actually, (at least with 2nd gen) MINI has had a habit of producing the advertised numbers (or very close) at the wheel when put on a dyno. I have personal experience with this on multiple MINIs.

True, I guess we will have to wait for the first stock F56 JCW dyno run and see what happens! Hopefully we will know here soon Lets get those cars made and delivered so we can play with them

My numbers are are 218whp and 232wtq, but at the crank (12%) it's 244HP and 260wtq. I expect these numbers to be even bigger with the DP installed. Hopefully dyno tonight or Saturday.

MArio, did you run a stock baseline before adding the tuning?

Does your tune remove the rev hang? I'd love to remove that "feature" of the stock tune... As best I can tell, the rev occurs when the the clutch is pressed, but not when the clutch is in (e.g., reving in neutral). It makes smooth upshifts difficult. Compared to my track miata that has a lightweight flywheel, the rev hang on the Mini is unbearable...

How does this work with fuel consumption and the various driving modes like Eco normal and sport?

This is very interesting condsidering how easy and reversible it is.

There's no competition to this tune right?

It's a piggy back system. That means it's not altering the ECU itself, but is instead intercepting the signals from various sensors the ECU reads info from. For example, the airflow meter is actually reading a value we will call X1. The piggyback intercepts the signal with value X1 and sends a value of (X1 + Y), where Y is some predetermined value that the maker of the piggyback unit has figured out will trick the ECU into thinking a condition exists which is different from what is actually happening. This is done for a handful of the sensors the ECU collects information from. The end result is the ECU is fooled into thinking it needs to allow more boost, change the injector duty cycles, etc.

Because none of the actual ECU programming is changed, the green, normal, and sport modes will still work. However, those modes are also being tricked by the piggback.

Hope that helps some.

So are your numbers with just the burger tune plug in? maybe I should reconsider trading in my F56 MCS for the JCW if I can achieve those numbers with just the plug in and later get an exhaust. Did you adjust the burgertune at all? I just put the JB burgertune on my girlfriends 2011 R56 and she is very happy. No major mods to her car besides my old quicksilver exhasust

With a simple third 3rd gear pull with a JB+ I did some strong numbers, but now adding my CNC 3 times larger intercooler, to compliment the new plug and play high flow catless downpipe.
The F56 has a very positive future, of possibility to being one of the most power Mini ever brought to market

I doubt you can run the Burger on a JCW as its tuned very different.I run the Burger on my F56 and its much faster than the JCW mainly because the JCW's power comes much later in the rpm range. Going to turn up the boost a little more soon which will have me in the 260-270bhp range with only 14 boost. F56 owner in Eorope is running 272whp on 15boost and higher octane fuel.

What are the details on this car?

Who tuned it, and is there a build thread?
