if you liked it then, i just upgraded to the Burger Tuning JB4. much smoother, and even more of a pull. i should probably take another drive to see you guys.
the key word that eric pointed out in the video was "live-able". the muffler-delete was cool for a bit, but it just got too annoying. this is quiet when it needs to be, and then produces a nice sound when pushed harder. that's what i love about it. and well, the rest i leave up to AWE to describe as they see fit.

Haha! I treated your car with the gentlest of touches when testing the AWE Touring Exhaust. Actually, you don't need to give it the stick with this exhaust to get your money's worth, it's fun just to tool around 3-5k rpm and listen to the note. No need to Ike Turner your car.
I have an AWE exhaust in my family as well. My wife has a F30 BMW (2 Liter turbo 4 N20 motor) with AWE's version of the touring exhaust for the BMW. One of the (many) costs of being married to me is that I always tinker with her car, so she has to put up with performance exhausts and the like. I snuck it away several months ago and installed the AWE quad tip on it. She, despite not being interested in car tuning, likes the exhaust. It turns what is essentially a soul-less car into something that's really fun to drive, without pissing off the wife. Here's a linky to that story.

hey man...i'll put some video together over the next few days. been waiting for a buddy of mine to get to town so he can help me with the videos and logs as i'm doing a few things..
- video of exhaust inside and out
- engine logs as i'm running a Burger Tune JB4 w/+6 and a FF adapter.
i'll see about putting together a mix of highway driving as well as some soft accelerations, hard accelerations, and some street driving (lights, traffic, etc..)

Josh, a few questions from me since I'm shopping for an exhaust:
Is the AWE exhaust 2.5" all the way? Any reason you picked 2.5" compared to 2.75" which the other manufacturers are using?
I have a friend with a full 3" Armytrix turboback exhaust and immediately after fitting he felt that he had lost a bunch of low and mid range power. He ended up taking off the downpipe and run the Armytrix cat-back yet he still felt slight power lost.
Since my previous cars were all N/A, I'm still trying to get a definitive answer on the effect of exhaust piping on turbo car. Some say larger is better, yet some contradict that statement. I wonder if this is the reason why you've selected 2.5" instead of 2.75" or 3" piping. I understand that stock Cooper S is only 2.25".
Also is the AWE only for US- spec cars?
Thanks!

Our Exhaust Suite is 2.5" from start to finish.
Going with 2.5" was the perfect compromise for suitable power, fit, cost, and to achieve our signature sound. In your friend's case, a loss of torque with little gain up top is very believable when considering the effects of a 3" system. It takes more effort to move the larger mass of air.
We've achieved a lot with 2.5" diameter systems, set a few records even
Regarding whether the system is for U.S. spec MINIs... well... we'll have to get it over seas to confirm Euro spec models are acceptive of it

1) video was last night
2) car was driven for about 15 minutes
3) while this is at idle revving, it's not as much when driving.
personally, while i enjoy some subtle popping, i'm not a fan of excessive popping. would make for a frustrating driving experience. i'm in sport mode 95% of the time, so if everytime i drove it popped like crazy, i would not like it.
