Mini shift ****

Before I got my cooper, when i was still researching, I remember reading an article where the only complaint was the shift ****. Due to its composition- plastic, metal, and leather- primarily in extreme temperatures, the shift **** is three different temperatures. I know what your thinking- I'm picky. Your right. How we drive is more greatly influenced by the confidence level our car delivers us than we realize. It only took a few times of getting into my car after work on a hot day and having to deal with this annoyance for ma to become motivated enough to change my shift ****. I recalled noticing Joe at RSpeed had changed his out. On top of looking nice I liked the principles of his shifter. Its solid aluminum, has a black crinkle finish, and is the perfect size. When Joe handed me my own my jaw almost dropped to the floor. This solid piece of aluminum just plopped into my hand-talk about a quality feel. Anyways I highly recommend this simple upgrade. It takes practically no time and is an upgrade you will reap the benefits of between every gear. RSpeeds Mini Monte Carlo Shift **** is also available in a polished and brushed aluminum finish. Joe and I both have one on our cars in the Atlanta area if you'd like to test it out.

It is a great shift **** for the price. I personally really like the Whalen shift ****, but it is much more expensive. It is also smaller than stock or the RSpeed ****. So if you like the larger size of the stock ****, and aren't looking at paying a fortune, the RSpeed **** is an excellent choice.

Is aluminum any cooler to the touch than stainless steel? That Whalen gets intense after sitting in the summer sun.

Aluminum is a better conductor of heat than steel. It will get hotter quicker but will also cool off quicker.

But since you have the Whalen, try using the quick disconnect and tossing it on the floor or onto the parcel shelf if you have it to keep it out of the direct sunlight.

When I first heard about the Whalen, I thought it was simply ridiculously priced, but now that I have one, I would not want to shift with anything else. . .

Here in Minnesota, the Whalen does not get too hot in the summer.

I would imagine it could be bad in a hot state, but not here in MN.

Cold, that's another matter.

I live in New Orleans and have a Whalen. Haven't had any problem with a hot ****. But I have huper optiks window tint and no sunroof, which probably helps. I hated the stock ****. Whalen all the way!
