Battery box delete and custom exhaust

Alright guys so I've looked everywhere and I can't find a tutorial on how to actually do the battery box delete. So if there is one. Please let me know and I'll delete this. But until then. Please know that this is VERY easy to do. This is the easiest mod by far that has happened to my mini. All you really need to do is remove the surrounding heat shield from the box from underneath the car. There are three small bolts that hold it on. Easy to take off. After that you take a grinding wheel or a some kind of metal cutting blade and cut (it can vary) about an inch or 3/4 inch down from the inside of the car. After that you remove the yellow box on the side of the box by pulling up. (Might take a little force). The hard part is now over. You pull the battery box and set it wherever you like. For me all I did was set it in my trunk like this. I don't use trunk very much so this isn't a concern for me. Might want to reconsider if you do. After that I just put 6 little 90 degree angles on the box and screwed it in. Set the battery in there and connect the terminals. You probably will need to by a longer negative cable. I bought a 20" one and it did wonderfully. Calk in or silicone the bottom of the box to prevent fumes from getting in the cabin. Slap on your fancy new exhaust and roll around town. I just went with a straight through glass pack to a new tip with burnt ends. It sounds GREAT. I HIGHLY recommend this mod. It took me maybe 2 hours and that was time that was well spent in the garage. Let me know if you have questions!HTTPS://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU7e...ature=you.tube

I've done it on mine to fit a "straight" exhaust, as in front to back with little to no bendy bits. I wouldn't really recommend this mod unless you want your exhaust to run straight in the middle. I would also recommend a smaller, ligther battery as you are moving that battery weight higher, might not be a big deal, unless you do autocross/track where every small things matter.

Personally, I drilled the spot welds and used the holes to tighten a metal plate using bolts, as well as urethane adhesive to prevent water infiltration and metal on metal contact. I also sprayed rubber undercoating underneath. I haven't replaced my Red Top battery for a lighter one, nor did I finished my exhaust. I'm waiting to get a header so I can get the exhaust done with an XForce Varex muffler. Cops don't like exhausts around here, so the Varex is the best of both worlds, a bit pricey, but to avoid constant $160 fines, it's pretty cheap.

The extra bolts in the middle are for the exhaust hangers.
