engine mount (bottom one)

Nm sells one, I have always read that is a nice upgrade and improves drivability, may I know why? What does it exactly do? And why does it help?

Thank you!

Maybe a Lil vibration, and a Lil noise on the right side, but I think that has to do w a bad link or bushing

Vibratechnics. Do it right, don't bolster crappy OEM with inserts.

Sent from my Moto X using NAMotoring

Definitely Vibratechnics. I've had a BSH lower mount and Powerflex inserts (similar to NM), they don't compare at all to the Vibratechnics.

The problem with the BSH is too much vibration in the cabin. Inserts were fine but not aggressive enough. Curious how the Vibratechnics is.

The car has the same connectedness as the BSH but without the horrible in cabin vibration.

You can tell its not stock but its not harsh at all.

I have the NM one,

What it does is prevent the engine from moving excessively in the engine bay. When you drive the car, and accelerate, the engine moves in the mounts before it transfers power to the wheels. By adding a stiffener (mount) you limit the range of motion and get a quicker response from the drivetrain.

the NM mount goes around the factory mount rather than replace it. It only really "helps" under engine load (acceleration) rather than just being a stiff chunk of plastic that sends engine vibrations into the car.

While its not as "strong" as other mounts mentioned here, its perfect for the person who just wants a little more performance, positive drivetrain engagement, and a mod that literally takes about 3 min to install.

As a owner of a stick car, I say its a must. It eliminates the "rubber banding" of the engine swinging back and forth.

Ordered the Vibratechnics and will replace the NM I've had since the car was new.

Let us know what you thoughts are on it. I'm a little skeptical on the vibrations from the vibratechnics. The bushings look really small

I just looked at the photo of it again and its hard to judge the size without any reference. Where are you guys buying these from. The drive train lash is driving me nuts. I had all the mounts inserted/replaced on my R53

FWIW, A few years ago I bought the powerflex yellow ones. I ran for about 1500 miles, but removed them because of vibration. My car is an auto, and the vibration was very significant, especially at a stop light with the A/C on. I then installed the NM inserts, and have found them to be acceptable from a vibration standpoint. The reduction of torque steer is welcome, and I'm happy with this setup.

Have fun,
Mike

I've had the NM since I got the car in late 2012. Will try this one and let you know. By looking at the quality, I'm thinking I'll like it.

I have the NM inserts that I have had the car for around 80k miles. I think they are wore out because I am getting a lot of movement in the engine. I am looking at the bsh, the torque solutions, and the vibratechnics mounts. I am not worried about vibration because the coilovers make the ride rough as it is.

Get the vibra-technics. The torque solutions appears to be the same as the bsh. I've had the bsh and it makes the car feel like it's about to fall apart. I had it for more than a year then gave up and took it off. I tried the power flex black as well but they didn't feel that good. Too much vibration and not a very connected feeling.

The vibra-technics vibrates when you first install, then it starts settling down. I've had mine a couple months now and I love it, wouldn't trade it for anything. It feels as connected as the bsh but way smoother.

I am not really too worried about the vibrations. Plus I am on coilovers so everything shakes. I just can't see why this is $60 more the Torque solutions and BSH.

Also have an auto with an NM insert and was thinking about removing it then decided to pull it spray a liberal dose of silicon lubricant and reinsert reduced vibration at stop lights by about 40% much better!

Any suitable lub that doesn't attack the rubber/ polyurethane should have a similar impact on vibration.

Go ahead and get the BSH, unless you only track the car, you'll regret it.

Yeah that is why I don't advice on here. Just because you say so doesn't make it a bad product. I need more then "I told you so" to make a decision.
