Drivetrain obx dp

OBX is a 2.25 diameter if I remember correctly.
If you plan on doing more power in the future its better you get a 2.5-3inch diameter.
I was deeply considering buying OBX down pipe a long time ago but I thought I would regret it in the future and waste more money on buying a another one in the future. So I bought one from Evolve Automotive, I believe it was 250 shipped. Yes more expensive than the OBX but I am not sure what your future plans are.

Like johntotah94 has stated it all depends on what your future plan are, never heard of anybody sticking in a 2.25" inch DP on their MCS. You have to have a flex section or your asking for trouble, when I'm ready to install my catless DP I will have already had a custom section made where the second cat is located.

$279.00 for Catless, $750 for Sport cat (a fairly average jump with a cat). MAY be able to find it a bit less on a 3rd party site with some patience and searching.

Well I,'más checking to see if the obx dp is 2.25 or 2.5, because what I think is, that the mid pipe it comes with reduces from w.5 to 2.25, if that's the case then I won't use the mid pipe. Let's see what I find, if anyone can help me with this I'd be glad. If not I'll order the evolve. But there's a clear $120 saving if I go obx.

Yea, but since it comes with a mid pipe, maybe the one reducing the size is the mid pipe? And not the dp. That's what I want to figure out.
Another thing I am trying to get is a riss racing downpipe. I know it's hard but worth a try.
I've checked the market and even posted on the markets to try and get one. I'm just running on a tight budget here, so I'm trying to a dp under $200. If I have to go up to a evolve one, so be it. But I want to keep trying and see if I get something before I do that.

people keep talking about power here and idk why its such a big deal, the extra .25in might give you 5hp at most over the obx but who cares, OP you should buy the full obx exhaust, it sounds great and can be had for under $500
this is a mini cooper for crying out loud, its not gonna make that big of a difference
also you dont need a flex pipe, i have never had an exhaust with a flexpipe on it unless it was OEM, i never had problems, dont listen to people telling you that you will if there isnt a flex pipe

you're gonna tell me $500 for 5hp is worth it? thats $100 per hp and you're not even gonna feel the difference
you sound like one of those guys who talk dyno numbers all day and do nothing but measure **** sizes with other people
also you talk like tuning is big here, it isnt, you spend money for your canned tunes(thats what they are canned tunes) from big tuners and when you upgrade it, you change maps, not costing you a dime
unless those thousands you are gonna spend will net at least 20+hp, it isnt worth the extra money
oh and FYI, even big name exhaust companies use a 2.25in pipe, borla and magnaflow are ones that come to mind right away

thousands? you're literally saving $500 compared to big name kits

You sound like you're pissed because no one agreed with you suggestion on buying the obx dp which is a 2.25" inch DP, others stated why a couple more dollars for a 2.5-3 inch diameter" inch DP was a better idea. Funny thing is I don't have a tune, everything I have is in my signature, no tune and not even a FMIC. You don't know me at all.
