evolve r tune/ any other tune

So I have been searching around for a new tune/flash since the accessport is gone, and I would like feedback on people who are trying different tunes around.

Preferable on the N14 engine, I was looking and until now the most appealing for me is the evolve r, any other tunes better than them? how do they work? is the performance comparable with accessport?

I have not tried other tunes but I believe Manic Motorsport will give you great power and leave you extremely happy. You need to go to a Manic dealer to get it done.
If you prefer a hand held device. Your choice is Battle Tuning or JZW Saab tuning.
Both have good reviews.
Also RMW Tune if you can find the guy to tune your car.
Stock turbo I got 226whp 231wtq Stage 2 with Manic.
Not bad if you ask me or anybody.

that sounds great! Unfortunately I live outside the US and there are no dealers here... :(. I contacted them to see if something could be done. Maniac looks awesome! Thanks for the feedback!

I Was the same as you looking to get a tune but anything local was over priced and they probably just got maps from overseas and flash your car. So I thought I'd cut out the middle man and do it myself.

I went with Evolve because of their reputation and because they are based in Europe as my car is a Europe spec car. Have read of people getting tunes from the States and running very lean because the Euro cars run off map and not maf sensors(this should not be a problem now).

Before I got my tune I made sure I'd finished my engine mods so I'd only pay for one tune and not pay extra as I went along and had no problems so far.

I think jzw might be cheaper for their devise and you get more than one tune(not sure but I think I read that some where). You'd have to also do the currency conversion of price with shipping to see the real cost to you.

Good luck and hope others can offer their experience with other companies.

With Battle tuning you can pay one prices and have everything adjusted there after for no extra charge, so long as it is still in the same Stage level of tuning (or lower). You can even go to a Dyno, get your map with AFR's and they will adjust your tune even further. That is the important part. Fuel is different everywhere and you will want to be able to have your tune adjusted. And frankly if a tune charges more to adjust your tune for something minor like that, they're doing a disservice.

I'm not saying Battle/DNA tune is the best raw performer. Accessport was higher, but more unreliable. Battle/DNA have a safe reliable tune that can be changed if you need it to be.

I see you mention you're not in the states, where would you be located? Depending on where you are you may be talking to DNA direct instead of Battle. Battle is the US carrier for DNA tunes.

Most of them are similarly priced (if not the same) for at least Stage 1 or Stage 2 that I've seen. Some charge a bit more for Stage 3, some don't. You don't have to start at Stage 1 if you're already modded at Stage 2 or 3. If you get Stage 1 from Battle and change something but it's still Stage 1 he's saying they'll adjust for free. If at Stage 2 you could get an update for Stage 2 or Stage 1. But if you change something that moves you from Stage 1 to Stage 2, or Stage 2 to Stage 3, then you'll have to pay for a new tune.

Hopefully that answered the question? lol

Thankyou! ¡
It did answer my question, I have contacted them, hopefully I tune with one of them. But first I'll have to mod my mini to at least get stage 2 or 3

What I ended up doing was purchasing stage 3 before I could use it. I had enough things for stage 2 but not stage 3. I knew I was going to be at a stage 3 level at some point so I bought the stage 3 package but had them send me a stage 2 tune. Once I brought my MINI to stage 3 level in terms of mods I then emailed them and let them know I was ready for stage 3. Got it and love it! Now for one last change, I will be going to a Dyno soon so that they can further adjust the tune to my vehicle. Each car is slightly different. I can't wait!
