Curious questions regarding Forge DV FMDVR60R
So, as some may have read in my Need help with Boost issue thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ost-issue.html
I had an issue with my Forge DV Part# FMDVR60R.
Couple questions,
Was this the right Part # for an N18?

So I guess the whole time I was pushing methanol, my controller was triggered off vacuum rather than boost
.
But now that I'm running the stock DV, I realized that I needed to utilize a true boost tap.
NM Boost tap ordered. Cant wait to see how well my W/M kit works when actually reading boost rather than vacuum

- There seems to be a discrepancy between WMW site and FORGE site.
- WMW advertises the following for their N18 Kit:
- And here is what Forge states for the same kit:
- As I stated above I had installed the following kit which FORGE states is for the 2011 & up N18 motor:
- Also, I have read that some used the boost tap to run this system. But my instructions state to use the point where the vacuum hose is hooked up next to the stock DV, pic from instructions:
- What's the scoop on this, am I missing something?
- I stumbled upon this when I went to hook up my boost line for my Methanol controller. My mechanic actually tapped into this set up to track boost:

You say you have the Forge DV Part# FMDVR60A, you purchased the wrong part, remember the Prince engine is currently being used for other french cars. You purchased the BOV or blow off valve instead of the DV or diverter valve which diverts the incoming charge air back into the intake system, the BOV vents in the engine bay. To confirm if your valve has holes on the outside of the valve housing you purchased the wrong part!
WMW only sells the Diverter Valve that diverts the incoming charge air back into the intake system, WMW knows that the part #FMDVR60A doesn't work well at all which is why he doesn't sell it. No wonder you're having trouble, atmospheric diverter valve dumps the charge-air to atmosphere. Notice the "A" at the end of your part#? Google "Forge DV Part# FMDVR60A" and you'll see that it's the BOV version.

Yes the Forge website is confusing, I noticed the discrepancy as well last year when I purchased mine. So does your valve body have the holes around the outside?
Sure don't. I stayed away from that one. The DV I had gotten was from a NAM member. It was brand new in box. I believe it worked fine at first, but got stuck for some reason causing limp mode. That's why I questioned vacuum line vs boost tap. A little confused...
Here is another thought... Could the fact that my mechanic tapped into the vacuum lines of the Forge DV, have anything to do with the spring getting stuck? I know that the Forge DV is a mechanical valve, where the stock is controlled be the DME. I'm wondering if tapping into that flow cycle (highlighted in the second pic of my first post) had disrupted the normal operation of the DV.
Oh well, we will see how well my W/M kit operates once I install the NM Boost tap.
