Drivetrain Unichip dyno not so good. :(

Paul,
If the dyno numbers are right, it would seem that letting the ECU adapt to the Unichip might produce a long-term improvement and that for an instant extra power, just turn off the unichip. Until the ECU readapted to stock you would get more power. If this is correct it might be fun to have a switch to toggle off for a quick power burst.

I'm going to test again and see what happens from there.

Here are two plots I did of a friends '02 MCS. The UNIchip was done afterwards, with about a half hour of adaptive logic learn time after a reset before doing the next dyno pull. Peak gains of 11Lb-Ft and 9HP. SAE corrected, of course

Ryan,
Were you running the "B" map? I know Randy and Unichip say you need 100 octane gas for the "B" map but I've run that map for over a year on 92 octane without any problems. (Knock on wood).
After having V39 installed I ran without the unichip for a week to get a feel for the new software and then put the unichip back on. My butt dyno noticed the difference right off. It's still hard to say if it's worth the $$ but I like the fact it can be removed for visits to the dealer as I have had them refuse work based on having mods.
