Tell me about this header

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Cooper-S-02-06-R53-Stahl-Race-Header-/291006841032?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c15c00c8&vxp=mtr
Seems like a hardcore race header? It doesnt look like you could use it with a cat?

Handmade in America and badass. Nope, you're not welding a cat into that. Also, you'd need a second O2 bung welded in for the secondary O2 sensor.

It doesn't look like it would bolt up to my Invidia exhaust? The flange looks huge. I'm concerned it will be really loud too? I agree that its amazing for the price, but just want to know what I'm getting myself into

just did a search... it seems that header will require modifications... and may be too much for a stock car....(sorry not trying to down play it just reading from old posts)

I just read that it is designed to be bolted up to a 3" straight pipe. Maybe its not for me then haha

Great score for someone who wants to run that setup though

He had 7 to start with. Says he found them in a storage building from a NASA BMW group that intended to start a race team... again his claims not mine.

The header is not ideal for a street car, but as long as you can weld and have the materials it can be easy to fit to any exhaust.

Price is great at 150 shipped. Bad side is the material is mild steel and painted. Not a thing wrong with a mild steel header as long as you coat it properly. I intend to ceramic coat it in polished silver (1600 degrees) and etch the inside for a black (2000 degree) coating. I can say that if it arrives and I am not happy with the quality of the collector it will be cut off and replaced with a Burns unit.

So in the end it should be worth the money if you are willing to put in more.

Damned the bad luck…. He sold them all before I had a chance to buy one.

Oh well… I went with an OBX racing header. Should come in sometime by the end of next week.

Just saw this post but am an eBay junkie and I bought a couple of them from the guy. They came quickly and they even have a flex section which wasn't shown in the picture.
