I am using the pads that came with the Rotor Kit right now but you are right they throw out massive amounts of dust - I will most likely change to the Carbon Technology units a little later down the line.

Cool! Lastly did you notice any difference with the slotted rotors or are they more for looks?

Just want to verify something quick.... the StopTech SS brake line kit I want for the R56S calipers is 950.34017, right? That appears to be what is in the original picture, but the pages I'm looking at are inconsistent for the '07 R56S part numbers.

I think the problem is that the images they show are not correct.

But yes the SS Lines for the 07(R56) and up Front Brake Lines are what you want.

Matt - BTW I msg'ed you on Fb

hmm.... I don't see any FB IMs, coCp. They should be showing since we've already accepted from each other.

Anyway, I wasn't really looking at just pics online... the pulldowns where you select your car make/model is giving me different results depending on the page. I found some & matched that to what I think I read for p/n in your initial post, but wanted to make sure.

Whats the final verdict on the setup? Do you notice more braking power?

My parts are still trickling in, I'd like to have them all on before opening day at Watkins Glen on the 16th, but that may be pushing it if I get the calipers powder coated.

I can guarantee there will be a noticeable different with just the larger R56 calipers due to larger pistons alone, but even more if you do R56S brakes. Simple physics. And even more yet if you do R56S performance pads/rotors.

I've lost track of how much the conversion cost me, but I was doing all new pads/rotors/lines & probably new calipers anyway, so it wasn't all that bad.

I've had the r56s conversion for about a year. They are awesome, especially with the stainless lines. Also I had brand new brake setup on before I swapped over, I would skip the slotted or drilled unless you want the looks. The surface area is better for braking versus the "heat dissipation" unless you get top notch drilled or slotted rotors.

if you want the looks go for it. For me the cost vs visual flash wasn't worth it for me. Bavauto has free shipping on Meyle rotors now they are coated and excellent.

I agree its basically an aesthetic choice, I personally like the look of the drilled and slotted, but I have read that Dimpled is better than drilled.

I like the look as well so I think ill go for it! What are the best pads to get to reduce dust? Right now I am having really bad dust and squeeking as well. Also should I be odering r56 rotors for the mod?

Are you looking for front or rear, are you adding the R56 Front Calipers. I need more information to help you.

Yeah, thanks man
I am just doing the front, converting from standard R53 to R56. I have the R56 s Front calipers and Carriers lined up for purchase, just need a great deal (yet still quality) rotors and pads, this deal I posted seems to be the cheapest I could find and I do prefer the look of the drilled and slotted. In the listing I was wondering about the size in millimeters

Easiest way is search for a 2007 through like 2012 MINI Cooper S. Make sure that you are getting 294mm Rotors. There are some good deals on eBay with free shipping, I have used them with good success.

If you end up with a kit that has pads through them out the pads are total ****.

With this item on eBay, 331885413105, such a good price might just do front and back and be done with it, but then I'd have to get the back capers from the R56 s too?

Those are perfect, buy them and install them and be happy. No you dont need calipers from the rear they are the same from R53 to R56

Ok bud, so the R56 s rear rotors fit fine, but the guy at auto parts store says the part is different between the R56 s and R53 's rear rotors?? So are they different but the r53 caliper will fit fine?

Also (sorry), the break wear sensor. If I'm doing all four rotors from the R56 s, what sensors do I get? All R56 s? R56 s front and R53 's rear? The parts guy confirmed that the wear sensor part is different from R56 s and R53 's rear.

And I need all four new ones if the working light has been tripped right?

So to be clear, my endgame is full front R56 s conversion, back just want R56 s rotors because they come in the package, and would look better to do all four.

Thanks man

The lug size may be different depending on your model year which should be the only difference in rear rotors. You would still want r53 sensors all around.

Ok cool on the rotors, same.

But R53 's sensors in the front too?, op said R56 s.

Not trying to question you, just clarity because hearing two things, thanks

Late to the party, but I will be doing this mod in August. Ordered my front calipers today ($80 on Ebay) and will order the rest after my vacation in FL.
