Borla or Magnaflow Muffler?

I'm planning on modding to a straight exhaust on my 04 MCS soon, but I'm not quite sure which muffler to get.

I have my exhaust tips already. They're 2 1/4" (2.25) inlet and 3" outlet.

The only problem I have with the borla (part #40363) muffler is that it has a single outlet and I'm worried that adding a Y pipe to fit the dual exhaust tips would be difficult for the muffler shop and expensive.

The problem I have with the Magnaflow (part# 12138) is that it'll drone like a mother. The plus side to it is that it is dual outlet, eliminating the Y pipe problem.

I'd much rather have the borla, though, since it's quieter.

What would you guys recommend?

i love the sound of my magnaflow, and you could put the muffler in the spot it should be instead of right before the Y and only have 1 muffler

Does it drone at all? I don't want to be one of those obnoxious drivers. I'd like to have it sound great when I push it hard but subtle when driven at lower RPM's

I had a muffler shop quote me almost 300$ just for a y-pipe, it would be cheaper to go with the magnaflow, and if it's too loud weld in a resonator

I was actually thinking of doing that. I talked with my mechanic a few days ago and he said that he prefers magnaflow over borla for quality. I'll give it a go.

BUT.... the first step is a battery relocation

my whole system only drones at highway speeds of about 70-75, but then you crack the roof and its no big deal, but thats not to say a smaller system will drone more

My set up drones like a mother, but I like it loud, so it doesn't bother me at all, plus I've got a pretty killer sound setup if the exhaust becomes too annoying, and I don't even have headers yet, it is all subjective on what you think loud is, go with magnaflow, and you can always weld in an aftermarket resonator, but I would start with just the muffler first

A resonator won't help much with noise itself, but, as the name suggests, a resonator will help to eliminate excessive and unwanted resonance , AKA drone. I'd have a mid-pipe resonator welded in...
