R53 Stainless steel braided lines, build your own?

As the title says.

-----> Has anyone in NAM ventured out to do their own stainless steel braided lines, F&R? If so, what parts are needed....or post the DIY thread if there is any. (I searched and never found one)

Should not be too difficult although I don't have a DIY for it but certainly there should be something here. Have seen it done before just not often as many opt for DOT approved lines.

If you decide to go with a complete aftermarket set, we offer Troutman lines here. Just click on the 'parts for this project' link.

If it's anything like building braided lines for other components like fuel lines I want no part of it. Huge pain. The right tools make it easier but still not easy. Not to mention the consequences of failure...

v10---> Thanks for your positive comment.... lol I know the consequenses, I've built many braided lines for brake systems (mostly 350zs)and have been succesful.

But I was wondering if anybody had ever pondered doing this. Some automotive supply stores sell all you need to make them and it's not expensive at all if you have the time to do it yourself. You just need the correct lenght of the line (which I can find out by myself) and the correct connectors to the calipers and brake system.

I probably need the specs for the connectors that is all.

Pelican,

Thanks for the link. I've ordered a lot of parts from you. Y'all are excellent.

I'm kinda looking into doing this myself , I like doing projects.

We have our own WMW stainless brake lines custom made to be exact fit with no cutting required to install. Swapping them is easy, then just bleed the brakes.
